  • The closest Metro stop is Line A (Cipro - Musei Vaticani).
    From Ottaviano - Musei Vaticani Metro A Station:
    Exit the turnstiles - walk straight to the back end of the station and go to left side exit. Once you've reached the left side exit - exit at V.li Giulio Cesare (to your right). Exit Station and walk down V.le G. Cesare to street light, cross the street and take left on Via Leone IV. Take right on Via Sebastian Veniero and go 1 1/2 blocks.
    From St. Peter's Square: As you face St. Peter's Basilica turn right, exit the piazza and follow the Vatican walls around toward the entrance to the Vatican Museums. The walls should be on your left side. Follow the walls up Viale Vaticano until you reach the entrance of the Vatican Museums. Across the street you will see Via Tunisi and Cafe Vaticano.
    By Taxi:
    Please notify driver to arrive at the "Ingresso dei Musei Vaticani on Viale Vaticano". The meeting point is across the street from the museum entrance located at the BOTTOM of the wide staircase next to Cafe Vaticano.

  • On Wednesdays, access to St. Peter's Basilica and Square may be closed at the time of the morning tour due to the Papal Audience.

  • St. Peter's Basilica and other religious sites are subject to occasional closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, guests will be provided with an extended tour of the Vatican Museums or an appropriate alternative.
